Gyambibi is an artist from Ghana, West Africa currently based in Queens, NY. He believes the story behind his works can help people, and also enhance environments in hotels, offices, organizations and homes.
His works are mostly figurative and speak of everyday activities of African society. His interest is in exploring the life behind the spirit of markets, soaking up the hustle and bustle of the large crowds, and the mingling of people from around the world.
Gyambibi combines charcoal pencils, ornaments, pastels, paints, fabrics, etc. to create his unique style of works on paper. He also also works in Pyrography, burning on flat wood. His subject matter emerges from the smooth and expressive strokes.
