Graphite, Oils & Charcoal

I have always been interested in the details.  I enjoy being observant and finding the truth in what I am seeing. My work in realism has been the pursuit of that, finding and recreating the details while including the subtleties of light and shadow. I use graphite, oil paint and charcoal to capture everything that I see. My process involves close observation by taking the time to pay attention to both the small and the large details in order to capture the complexities of light and shadow while maintaining the observed emotion and expression.
