Jenny Urbanek is a contemporary artist, art educator and yoga instructor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In her work she reclaims and reimagines our deep shared past; looking backward in order to move forward. She utilizes metaphor, myth, and creates relationships between seemingly unrelated things, places, and people.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from UW-Milwaukee and Master of Arts degree in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been shown nationwide including, “Fractures and Dislocations: Excavating Histories” at the International Surgical Science Museum in Chicago and, “Deities: Embodying the Fragmented”, which she curated and exhibited at Bay View Gallery Night.
