Mark Rittorno
Oils & Plein Air
Born in Chicago. IL, Mark Rittorno spent his childhood exploring the woods, lakes and farmlands of McHenry, Illinois, a couple miles from the Wisconsin border. Mark has practiced and studied oil painting throughout the years, while living in locations from New York, NY to Irvine, CA To Orlando, FL. and Lake Tahoe, NV. In 2001 Mark began painting "en plein air" (outdoors). In 2017, Mark relocatied to Wisconsin.
Mark often attends figure and portrait sessions with live models. Mark believes that drawing and painting the figure is instrumental to hone one's drawing and observation skills. He also spends weeks on the road painting locations in the Rockies, Sierras and on the West coast.
