Ruth Vonderberg
Painting
Ruth worked professionally as a graphic designer of print media. On retirement, she started to create utilizing various fine art tools, mediums and grounds. Using her past experience, she applied the elements and principles of design from her practice of
graphic art to her exploration of fine art.
Ruth has given herself permission to engage in a journey of discovery and exploration through painting. Sometimes the inspiration for a piece is easily recognizable, or a narrative theme is suggested by its title. Other times, pure abstraction defines the work. The challenge she embraces in her creative process is to allow for the unexpected without sacrificing design principles. That interplay is what allows her to produce visually interesting work.
