Bob Fesser

Encaustic Painting

The goal of Bob's artwork is simply to create a wow.

Bob works exclusively in encaustic painting and the techniques associated with a hot wax process. He is intrigued by liquid wax and enjoys seeing what can happen when the materials are heated and fused, creating a wide variety of effect in depths and in the layers beneath.

Techniques Bob incorporates into his artwork include shellac burns, photo transfers, use of india inks and 3D construction.

Bob's abstract pieces explore the possibilities of texture and depth that can be created with encaustics. In stark contrast, his realistic pieces explore the detail and near photo realism achievable in encaustic painting.

Ultimately for Bob, it comes down to the process. What can be created with resin, pigment and beeswax is limitless and is taking him on an amazing journey in search of wow!
